Senegal has over 13 million inhabitants and is about the size of Great Britain. They are in the same timezone as Great Britain. They don’t have daylight savings time however.

Climate

Summertime is from November to May, which is the best time for a visit to Abéné. The mean temperature is between 25 - 35 C°
(F°77 - 95). Because of its proximity to the sea Abene enjoys a more moderate climate than for instance the scorching capital Dakar.

The rainy season (winter) is from June to October. In August and September the rains are often especially heavy and mosquitoes become a real problem.

Recommended clothing

Your choice of clothing depends on the time of year you will be coming. Bring thin clothing that is airy and lets the moisture out.

As a preventive measure for malaria, it’s advised to bring long-sleeved blouses and trousers for the evenings. In the wintertime it’s advisable to bring some warmer clothes for the evenings.
