Small loans, huge impact

Our guesthouse has started only recently. It will take a little while before we will actually make a profit. The profit will be used among other things for giving out small business loans for locals.

Examples micro credits

Below are some examples of local initiatives that we would like to support by granting micro credit.

Ousenou is 28 years old. He’s a master carpenter. He doesn’t always have food every day, but he is full of energy and joy.

Ousenou can’t make a living at his trade because he doesn’t have the necessary tools. So he uses a small whittling knife to make small wooden jewelry that he tries to sell to the few tourists that visit the village. It would take €500,- euro for him to buy a set of tools that will allow him to work as a furniture maker.

Henry is 52 years old. He is a whizz at repairing radios and such.

He’s made a screwdriver out of a bit of metal wiring, with which he works his magic. With a mere €100,- euro he could buy more tools and become the best repairman for miles around.

Djatou is 35 years old. She’s full of ideas about how to make a living and support herself.

Djatou wants to start a Laundromat. It would take about €400,- euro for her to buy a washing machine and she too could provide her own income.
